John Herd Tours offers boating tours in the back basins of Stone Harbor, New Jersey and Avalon, New Jersey. Tours include relaxing cocktail cruises as we explore the back basins and bayfront houses of Stone Harbor and Avalon. Tours also include visits to various dock-side restaurants such as the Lazy Bass in North Wildwood, The Deauville in Strathmere, The Wharf in Wildwood, and The Lobster House to name a few. John Herd Tours also does nature tours! This would primarily involve birding in the winding salt marshes as well as in and around “bird protected” Stone Harbor Point. When birding, boating guests can count on seeing between 15-25 various bird species including egrets, skimmers, and osprey among others. Dolphin watching is another option with the mid-summer weeks as the most active time for our local mammals to be observed. Tubing is no longer an option because of insurance reasons, but anchor and swim opportunities as well as visits to Champagne Island in Hereford Inlet are options that appeal to kids.
